We take a look at some of the fun ways you can spend the final week of the Summer Holidays.

Indoor recreation

Having kids staying active while being protected from the harsh summer sun is a tough task for any parent. Indoor recreation can be the perfect solution.

While almost every second suburb has their own rec centre that can accommodate basketballers and indoor soccer players, there are more adventurous indoor options across Perth.

Tropical Twist, Inflatable World and Mighty Jungle Indoor Play are just some examples of the huge indoor playgrounds that younger kids can tackle.

While the walls of Rockwall rock climbing and trampolines of Bounce can provide a challenge to the older ones!

Wildlife encounters

Lions, Dolphins, Koalas, Tasmanian devils, almost any animal or creature from the depths you can think of, can be found in Perth.

The most obvious places to start of course is Perth Zoo or the Aquarium of Western Australia (AQWA), but your kids can also get up close and personal with a few of their favourites.

Rockingham Wild Encounters will have your kids coming face to face with Dolphins, Penguins and Sea Lions, while nearly all of Australia’s unique marsupials and reptiles can be found at Caversham Wildlife Park and you can up close to a Koala at Cohuna Wildlife Park in the Perth hills.

Water Ways & Coastlines

Us West Aussies love bragging about our coast line and beautiful Swan River, but all to often we can tend to forget all about them during the school holiday period!

But with cliffs to leap off along Blackwall Reach, a stone’s throw from Fremantle, waves to catch along Cottesloe and Scarborough, and ship wrecks to explore off Coogee, it’s time to pack your towel, cricket set, Waboba ball and hit the sand.

You can also make a day of it and visit the Penguins at Penguin Island of Rockingham, or for the little ones enjoy the Kid Friendly Beach in Port Coogee.

Hills

Across the Swan coastal plain to the foot of the plateau, Perth is again offered immense beauty throughout our hills. Bush walks or swimming among waterfalls and damns, day trips are easy to take no matter where you live in the city.

Kids can get up close and personal with families of kangaroos before taking a refreshing dip in the rock pools at Serpentine national park, in the city’s south. While in Perth’s north east, the Avon Valley has countless trails for both walking and driving, to captivate your children this school holidays.

Out in nature, with family & friends, the Perth hills gets your kids out of the house for the day, while showing them how truly lucky they are to be living in such a city!

Game Vault

“Just one more game!”

This is a regular phrase yelled throughout the house in many gaming families.

Rather than fighting your kid’s love for games, why not embrace it this summer. Game Vault, Perth’s premier mobile gaming suite, is perfect for any special event or even just as a fun treat for your kids and their friends!

Up to 16 kids can enjoy Game Vault’s state of the art gaming set up, all whilst in the comfort of air- conditioning, in any location that works for you.

Game Vault’s gaming trucks are the perfect way to embrace your child’s love for games, build relations with their friends, and make you the most popular parent at school!
